Smart Grid Business Unit is looking for an experienced Embedded
System SoftwareEngineer to help build an RF or PLC-based mesh network
platform for connectingmillions of smart grid devices including
electric/gas meters, gridsensors/controllers, distribution automation
devices, home appliance andgadgets, edge routers, etc. The platform is
based on the latest open standardsfrom IETF and IEEE to enable
end-to-end IP connectivity to every device on thesmart grid.
Responsibilities
* Development of embedded software for Cisco’s smart grid
endpointreference design SDK
* Port the SDK to approved chipsets and devices
* Extend SDK with customer-specific requirements
* System testing and performance benchmarking
* Tracking and implementing China-specific networking standards
Key Requirements (Required)
* Proficient in C language
* Experiences with software development in resource and power
constrainedmicro-controller environments
* Experiences with mesh network and / or sensor network
* Good understanding of internet protocols
* Excellent written & oral communication skills (English &
Chinese)
* Team player, eager to learn on the job
Work Experience
* Open to consider fresh graduates
in 2011 (research on relevanttopics preferred)
* Open to consider recent graduates with 0-3 years of relevant work
experience(research on relevant topics preferred)
* Open to consider professionals with 1-5 years of relevant work
experience
Desired Requirements (NOT
Required)
* Familiarity with ARM Cortex M3
and IAR a plus
* Familiarity with IEEE802.15.4 radios and / or G3 / PRIME PLC a
