首先，作为给排水专业而言，在市政工程中，给排水是主要专业（在任何一个城镇，首先必须得通水才能保证基本的生活保障，自来水的提供、污废水的处理及排放）；而在民建工程中，给排水是附属专业（土建为主）。在很多民建单位中不难看出，单位的总工绝大多数都是土建专业的，而不可能是给排水专业的，从这点也能看出专业的重要性。

一、 企业资质标准
市政行业给水工程、排水工程专业设计资质分为甲、乙、丙、三个等级、不同等级资质要求企业注册资金也有所不同，大家可参照一下条件。

（1）专业配备齐全、合理，主要专业技术人员数量不少于所申请专业资质标准中主要专业技术人员配备表规定的人数。
